Lighting Technician 2

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Lighting Technician 2 to join our team at M.C. Dean. As a Lighting Technician 2, you will be responsible for assembling, installing, testing, and maintaining electrical or electronic lighting components. You will also be installing and mounting lighting controls, devices, sensors, and components, as well as safe operation of aerial lifts and bucket trucks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic lighting components.
- Install and mount lighting controls, devices, sensors, and components.
- Operate aerial lifts and bucket trucks safely.
- Test lighting systems and continuity of circuits in fixtures, using testing devices.
- Inspect installation sites and study work orders, building plans, and installation manuals to determine materials requirements and installation procedures.
- Diagnose malfunctioning lighting systems and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
- Read contract drawings.
- Troubleshoot EMS systems, smart breakers, and relays.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED with 2+ years of related experience.
- Reliable transportation.
- Must pass a background check and drug test.
- Must be committed to excellence and generate high-quality work.
- Must consistently report to work on time, work well with other employees to accomplish a common goal, and maintain a safe work environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- OHSAS 10 certification.
- Any other relevant certifications (e.g., Lift/Aerial Training).
Physical Abilities:
- Lift at least 100 pounds at one time and 60 pounds for an extended period.
- Relocate a 12-foot stepladder without assistance.
- Work at various heights up to 60 feet and climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, and all types of ladders.
- Walk, climb, lift, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, and reach overhead on a routine and repetitive basis.
- Possess good vision (may be corrected vision), the ability to see in color, and the ability to hear and communicate in English.
- Use a standard ladder without exceeding the weight limit while carrying tools.
- Recognize when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong.
- Apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
- Combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions (including finding a relationship among seemingly unrelated events).
- See details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
- Listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
