Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and engineer large-scale solar photovoltaic (PV) systems and energy storage solutions, focusing on projects ranging from 5MW to over 100MW.
  • Provide expert guidance to utilities on integrating renewable energy resources into their infrastructure.
  • Stay informed about current and emerging technologies to effectively plan for future energy grids.
  • Prepare comprehensive engineering construction documents and detailed equipment specifications.
  • Contribute to the development of internal engineering standards and best practices.
  • Coordinate design efforts across multiple teams and locations.
  • Occasionally visit project sites to collect essential data.
  • Engage in writing technical papers and reports to share insights and findings.
  • Conduct various system studies, including load flow and short circuit analyses.
  • Maintain clear communication with stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status.
  • Ensure high-quality design outputs through established QA/QC methods.
  • Mentor and train junior engineering staff, fostering their professional growth.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Power Systems.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in designing utility-scale solar PV and/or energy storage systems.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensure or the ability to obtain it in a timely manner.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, PVsyst, SKM, ETAP, and SEL Relays.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard design codes, including NEC and International Building Codes.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Strong project management skills with an emphasis on prioritization and organization.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • NABCEP certification or willingness to obtain it.
