Job Summary

The Behavioral Health Career Navigator will work within the MSU Denver Health Institute to prepare students for jobs in the Denver Mental health workforce. This position will recruit, advise, and provide resources to students majoring in mental health related fields, as well as coordinate internship training and placement.

Responsibilities
  • Student Support Services: Provide life design advising, coordinate services to ensure student success, and develop individualized plans to meet educational goals.
  • Recruitment: Conduct outreach to recruit students into health scholars programs, develop relationships with community organizations, and ensure compliance with grant guidelines.
  • Program Development and Implementation: Partner with external health agencies, recruit mentors, and develop workshop curriculum aligned with program goals.
  • Health Institute Planning and Collaboration: Contribute to curriculum development, management, and delivery, and help coordinate and gather data from various grants.
  • Grant Oversight, Management, and Supervision: Administer, collect, and track data from students to meet grant requirements, and assist with grant renewal and oversight.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in higher education, human services, or related field.
  • Demonstrated experience working in an academic or community-based setting, such as a recruiter, advisor, case manager, or career coach.
  • Preferred qualifications include a Master's degree, experience with casework or case management, academic advising, and experience working with external partners and/or health agencies.
