Role Summary:

This role is primarily responsible for the planning, execution, and oversight of all financial activities within the organization. This includes budgeting, maintaining the general ledger, managing accounts payable and receivable, overseeing grant management and reporting, conducting cash-flow analysis, handling banking operations, and supporting audits, among other critical functions. The position requires the execution and coordination of advanced and technically intricate accounting tasks, often necessitating independent judgment, for a moderately sized financial and business operation. All work must adhere to generally accepted accounting principles, organizational policies and procedures, and comply with verbal and written directives from Managers and Directors, as well as relevant laws and regulations. A strong professional ethic and a commitment to accuracy and customer service are expected at all times. This position is office-based.

Qualifications and Experience:

  1. Bachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited four-year institution.
  2. A minimum of three years of progressively responsible accounting experience or equivalent professional experience.
  3. Experience in a non-profit fund accounting environment, with direct knowledge of Florida state grant processes and reporting.
  4. Familiarity with accrual basis accounting systems.
  5. Understanding of revenue allocation and expense allocation across various cost centers.
