Job Description

MDW Associates is seeking a highly skilled Budgeting Expert to support the Space Launch Systems PP&C Office. The ideal candidate will provide sound financial stewardship, expert analysis, and innovative approaches to our National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) client in Huntsville, Alabama.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with program management and project team members to obtain a broad understanding of resource requirements needed to support the project schedule and technical requirements.
  • Develop, execute, and monitor budget and workforce guidelines, long-range operating plans, and annual phasing plans.
  • Provide financial analysis by monitoring budgets and phasing plans and analyzing trends affecting budget and workforce needs.
  • Integrate and consolidate monthly financial data from multiple sources into a central data package and provide analysis to management.
  • Mentor/train newly assigned budget analysts in all relevant resource activities.
  • Provide weekly and monthly reporting of project financial progress for both internal and external forums, including assessment of project financials against the baseline plan.
  • Effectively communicate and present budget and workforce status to program management, center management, and HQ customers on a weekly, monthly, and/or quarterly basis.
Requirements
  • Experience working with Prime contractors and understanding inter-workings of all resource-related activities.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work from multiple customers meeting or exceeding deadlines.
  • High proficiency in MS Office applications with advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint and a comprehensive knowledge of automated financial systems and budgetary report generation; experience with SAP, Business Objects, and eMRPT are preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills, work independently, be able to maintain confidentiality of data, and communicate effectively in writing, person to person, and in meetings.
  • Ability to travel if needed.
Education Requirements
  • Candidates for this position prefer to possess a BA/BS degree.
