Position Overview
The Adjunct Faculty in Engineering is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction to students enrolled in Engineering courses. This role involves facilitating student discussions, assessing academic performance, and providing support to enhance the learning experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct teaching assignments that may occur during various times, including mornings, evenings, or weekends, across multiple delivery formats such as in-person, online, or hybrid.
- Deliver instruction in foundational Engineering courses, adhering to established course outcome guidelines.
- Maintain regular office hours to assist students with academic inquiries and provide guidance on program-related matters.
- Utilize institutional resources and technology effectively to support educational activities.
- Engage in course evaluation and assessment processes.
- Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned to support the department's objectives.
Department Collaboration
Work collaboratively with fellow faculty members in the Engineering Department to develop and refine curricula, implement innovative teaching strategies, and ensure alignment with programmatic goals.
Qualifications
- A Master's degree in Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- A minimum of one year of successful teaching experience at the college level in the relevant subject area or demonstrated potential for teaching excellence.
Preferred Attributes
- Experience teaching lower division college Engineering courses.
