As a key member of the Excess & Surplus Lines Property division, you will be responsible for assessing intricate risk submissions for both new business opportunities and policy renewals. This involves gathering and analyzing essential data to evaluate the acceptability of various risks. You will also review endorsements on existing policies to identify any alterations in original coverage.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate, accept, reject, or modify risks in accordance with established underwriting guidelines and authority.
- Engage with producers to promote Chubb Westchester Property coverage, products, and services, while fostering strong relationships to enhance customer orientation and encourage targeted business submissions.
- Perform additional duties as necessary to effectively meet customer and team needs.
- Oversee all aspects of agency management within your designated territory.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Excess & Surplus Lines Property risk underwriting, with the capability to manage large and complex risks.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in property underwriting or equivalent expertise, showcasing initiative through effective self-management, organization, and prioritization of tasks.
- Experience in wholesale underwriting is preferred, although retail experience is also acceptable.
- Exceptional ability to develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive marketing strategy.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and maintain effective working relationships with both external and internal stakeholders.
- Strong communication skills, including active listening, confident expression of opinions, and the ability to present written communications effectively to diverse audiences.
- Experience in people management is preferred.
- Resourceful training capabilities.
- Proficient in various computer applications.
The compensation range for this position is between $117,000 and $189,000, with specific offers dependent on individual skills and other relevant factors. This role may also qualify for participation in a discretionary annual incentive program. Chubb provides a comprehensive benefits package, details of which can be found on our careers website. The disclosed pay range may be adjusted based on geographic differentials applicable to the location of the position.
