Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Underwriter for our E&S Property team in our Alpharetta, GA office. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing applications and financial requirements to determine the acceptability of risk in accordance with Endurance guidelines and standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Reviews applications and financial requirements to determine acceptability of risk in accordance with Endurance guidelines and standards
  • Understands pricing components and rating methodology as well as use of predictive modeling tools; prices risk based on financial and competitive analysis
  • Uses all appropriate underwriting tools, disciplines, and knowledge of strategies to ensure underwriting guidelines are followed
  • Demonstrates technical underwriting skills through strategic, thorough account reviews and file documentation
  • Prepares or analyzes information on adverse underwriting decisions, rate appeals, underwriting requirements, status, and declinations in order to drive results within the assigned territory
  • Adheres to CAT guidelines and underwriting discipline to minimize exposure and appropriately price
  • Keeps current on state/territory issues, regulations, and trends
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 6-7 years of insurance underwriting experience required
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Experience in working, producing, and underwriting all sizes of accounts with large brokerage houses, wholesalers, and specialty retailers
  • Experience successfully underwriting, quoting, and binding profitable business
  • Relationships with large brokers on both a regional and national level
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
