POSITION SUMMARY:
The Laboratory Systems Implementation Consultant delivers expert support for SoftLAB system suite applications, offering troubleshooting and training to a designated group of clients undergoing upgrades or straightforward implementations.
Additionally, this role provides SoftLAB system suite applications assistance as required for non-designated clients and addresses regulatory or compliance matters.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position is responsible for delivering guidance, both remotely and on-site, along with training and troubleshooting for the SoftLAB system suite applications to ensure that contractual commitments are fulfilled within the established project scope and timeline.
The consultant must develop a thorough understanding of and adhere to the project plan and associated activities for assigned projects.Ensures that the SoftLAB system suite applications are configured and deployed to leverage existing functionalities in relation to client needs, while also incorporating new features as they become available throughout the project lifecycle.
Meets all project reporting obligations (internally and externally) and proactively escalates issues as necessary. Adheres to all approved procedures, directives, and guidelines. Performs additional tasks as assigned.JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
Education Required:
A Bachelor's Degree in a healthcare-related discipline (such as Biology, Microbiology, etc.) or Computer Science. A Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Technology is highly preferred.
Certification or licensure in a clinical field (MT/MLS, MLT, Chemistry, Hematology, Immunohematology, Microbiology, etc.) from the State of Florida, ASCP, ASMT, or other national certifying bodies is mandatory.
A minimum of an Associate's Degree is required.Experience Required:
2-3 years of prior experience in a healthcare or clinical laboratory environment, or a related IT position is essential. Previous work experience in a clinical laboratory as a Medical Technologist or in a similar role is required. Experience with the implementation or support of healthcare information systems or familiarity with SCC SoftLAB is preferred. Prior exposure to SoftLAB v4.5 is highly advantageous. Experience with laboratory quality control and regulatory standards is beneficial.
Skills Required:
Strong teaching, presentation, attention to detail, and communication abilities are essential. The role necessitates the capacity to work independently while also functioning effectively within a team. Excellent planning and organizational skills are required. The ability to perform well under pressure is crucial. Intermediate computer proficiency is necessary.
Travel Required:
Yes, up to 40%.
