We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomy Technician to join our team at Sonora Quest Laboratories. As a Phlebotomy Technician, you will be responsible for collecting and processing biological specimens, ensuring accurate patient identification and specimen integrity.
Key Responsibilities- Collect and process biological specimens from patients, including blood samples and other bodily fluids.
- Verify patient demographics, location, and physician data to ensure accurate specimen processing and billing.
- Aliquot and label specimens according to established departmental procedures and practices.
- Deliver specimens to the technical area in a timely manner and perform initial processing and preparation of samples for transport.
- Assist in monitoring workflow and training of new employees.
- Focus on quality by ensuring all work performed is accurate and complete.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Basic knowledge of department resources and phlebotomy procedures.
- Phlebotomy program or phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Valid state driver's license and eligibility for company auto insurance required for float positions.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
This position may be located within a Hospital Facility, Patient Service Center (PSC), In Office Phlebotomy (IOP) or Mobile Diagnostic Services (MDS). Float positions require travel and flexible hours to work multiple locations and cover at mobile phlebotomy facilities/in-office phlebotomy locations with minimal notice.
