POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Temporary HR Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting various functions within the Human Resources division, including employee onboarding, payroll processing, and record management. This position involves providing assistance to employees by addressing inquiries related to payroll, benefits, and other HR processes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Facilitate the onboarding process for new employees, including preparation of pre-employment materials, completion of new-hire documentation, and orientation sessions.
- Support the bi-weekly payroll processing for hourly employees.
- Respond to payroll-related inquiries and collaborate with the HR Director to resolve any discrepancies.
- Assist newly eligible staff with enrollment in benefits and 401k plans.
- Support the annual insurance open enrollment and manage 401k modifications throughout the year.
- Organize, maintain, and file all employee records for both current and former employees, adhering to federal and state regulations, as well as company policies.
- Input all employee updates into Paychex and OnCore systems, ensuring collection of necessary documentation for employee files.
- Conduct file audits to verify that all required employee documentation is accurately collected and maintained.
- Oversee the reimbursement programs for steel-toe footwear and safety eyewear.
- Deliver positive and effective customer service to employees.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the HR Director or other management personnel.
- Associate's degree in Human Resources is highly preferred.
- 1-2 years of relevant experience is preferred, with a background in manufacturing being advantageous.
- Proficient in computer applications, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and act with integrity and professionalism.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in all tasks.
- Capability to prioritize tasks and thrive in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment.
