Radiology Technologist Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled Radiology Technologist Lead to join our team at Advocate Health. As a key member of our imaging department, you will be responsible for leading a team of radiologic technologists and providing exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Lead a team of radiologic technologists and provide guidance and support as needed.
- Assist with human resource responsibilities, including interviewing and selecting new employees, staff development, and performance feedback.
- Collaborate with other departments to provide education on managing patients after procedures and imaging department processes and procedures.
- Participate in the achievement and maintenance of modality accreditation and quality improvement projects.
- Support the responsible management of resources, including inventory management and department resource allocation.
- Perform basic to advanced radiologic procedures, including general diagnostic, orthopedic exams, and lead oversight for Mammography and DEXA Bone Density.
- Communicate with patients to explain procedures, obtain clinical history, and address any questions or concerns.
- Position patients and select exposure factors for various radiologic examinations, providing patient radiation protection and safety.
- Identify patient and label images, compare requisitions to physician's orders, and process images to ensure quality and accuracy.
- Assist and communicate with physicians, working independently outside the department as needed.
- Prepare and maintain records, entering patient and study information into the radiology information system and documenting billing codes.
- Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.
- Radiographer license issued by the state of Wisconsin.
- Registered Technologist (RT) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA), obtained within 6 months.
- Advanced training beyond High School in Radiologic Technology.
- Typically requires 5 years of experience in performing radiologic procedures as a Radiologic Technologist.
- Proficient in radiology positioning and techniques, aseptic techniques, and C-arm.
- Advanced knowledge of radiation safety and radiology equipment.
- Knowledge of specialty physician protocols and ability to work effectively with diverse providers.
- Advanced knowledge of anatomy.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, including delegation, team building, managing multiple priorities, problem solving, and decision making.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient service skills.
- Ability to work independently and intermediate computer skills.
This role requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders frequently throughout the workday. Must be able to stand/walk for majority of the day. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist, lift up to 20 lbs. over the head, and carry up to 40 lbs. a reasonable distance. Must be able to push/pull with 30 lbs. of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present. May be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and radiation hazards as well as blood and body fluids; therefore, personal protective equipment must be worn as necessary.
