About this Role:
The Underground Construction Supervisor will manage the operations of their teams based on project size. This role requires the Supervisor to perform all responsibilities associated with an Underground Laborer & Operator. Additionally, they will assist in training new laborers and operators on established procedures and job responsibilities. The Supervisor will be responsible for submitting daily time records for their crew and ensuring adherence to safety protocols on-site.

Key Responsibilities:
As an Underground Construction Supervisor, your duties will encompass all aspects of underground construction, including but not limited to:
- Loading, transporting, and unloading materials, tools, and equipment.
- Restoring and landscaping areas affected by construction activities.
- Erecting and dismantling scaffolding, shoring, braces, traffic barricades, and other temporary structures.
- Excavating trenches, backfilling, and leveling earth to meet grade specifications.
- Identifying utilities within the trench or bore path.
- Conducting daily maintenance and safety inspections of equipment.
- Maintaining a clean and safe job site.
- Reporting incidents to the Supervisor or Safety Manager promptly.
- Submitting daily timecards for crew members.
- Operating heavy machinery safely and efficiently.
- Managing crew productivity and performance.
Qualifications:
To be considered for the Underground Construction Supervisor position, candidates should possess:
- A willingness to travel.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in underground construction.
- The ability to read and interpret maps, plans, and blueprints.
- Experience operating heavy machinery.
- Knowledge of safety standards related to heavy equipment operation.
- 1 to 3 years of experience with loaders, dozers, backhoes, and excavators.
- A valid driver's license or the willingness to obtain the necessary license.
- Basic knowledge of utility trucks and equipment operation.
- Effective communication skills.
- The ability to work in various weather conditions.
- The capability to lift and carry up to 100 lbs as needed.
- OSHA 10 certification.
Working Conditions:
This is a full-time hourly position, typically requiring at least 40 hours of work per week. The role involves outdoor work, exposing the employee to varying weather conditions, including extreme temperatures and precipitation. The work environment may include diverse terrains and settings.
Physical Requirements:
The employee must be able to stand for extended periods, tolerate extreme weather, and perform physical tasks such as lifting, climbing, and kneeling. Regular lifting of up to 75 pounds is expected.
