Position Title: Advanced Mitigation Specialist
Compensation Range: $21.85 - $31.68 per hour
Position Summary:
The Advanced Mitigation Specialist is responsible for guiding a team of technicians through various phases of restoration and environmental projects, from initiation to completion. This position reports to the Supervisor and may also work closely with the Project Manager and/or Branch Manager. Collaboration with other departments within the organization is essential.
Primary Responsibilities:
Key duties for this role include:
- Maintaining ongoing communication with essential stakeholders such as the Branch Manager, Operations Manager, Project Manager, Supervisor, and Project Coordinator to discuss project timelines, scope modifications, material needs, and personnel resources for seamless project execution.
- Directing staff to carry out necessary tasks to expedite project completion, including material procurement, managing client belongings, and executing repairs with the utmost quality while adhering to regulatory and industry standards.
- Leading a team of three or more technicians, providing guidance and oversight based on established job parameters.
- Overseeing multiple job types daily, ranging from simple tasks to complex large-scale projects.
- Ensuring the team delivers exceptional customer service and recommending adjustments based on experiences to benefit both the client and the organization.
- Maintaining the company-assigned vehicle and restocking supplies as needed.
- Completing and submitting crew sheets and job notes at the end of each workday.
- Acting as a role model by adhering to and enforcing company policies and safety protocols during service delivery.
- Contributing to the development of technicians through mentoring, coaching, and providing constructive feedback to enhance skill sets.
- Participating in job site safety briefings and providing training within the scope of expertise.
- Possibly serving as the company Site Safety Representative, applying knowledge of industry standards and safety training to enforce safety protocols.
- Timely and accurately completing timecards and ensuring crew members do the same.
- Submitting completed work orders, including measurements, moisture readings, and necessary documentation for billing purposes.
- Continuously improving trade skills through regular training provided by the company.
- Expanding knowledge of company services, operations, and best practices to support personal professional growth.
Qualifications:
To succeed in the role of Advanced Mitigation Specialist, candidates should possess the following:
- A minimum of three years of experience in a lead technician capacity within the construction or restoration/mitigation sectors, or equivalent experience gained through fulfilling the responsibilities of a Lead Technician I.
- A valid Driver's License with a clean driving record (Class C).
- Insurability for driving purposes.
- Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) are preferred.
- Ability to pass a Respirator Physical and obtain a respiratory fit exam.
- Preferred industry certifications, with the ability to pass medical evaluations if required for certification.
- Excellent communication skills and a commitment to providing outstanding customer service.
- Proficiency in the English language (reading, writing, and speaking).
- Comfort with using software and applications for accessing and submitting documents, forms, and reports.
- Aptitude for teaching and actively contributing to the development of technicians through demonstration and encouragement.
- A strong understanding of safety protocols and their application in daily tasks.
- Completion of Site Safety Representative training.
- Thorough knowledge of company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and adherence to guidelines.
- Expertise in the use of hand tools, power tools, and other equipment necessary for job completion.
- A focus on continuous personal and professional development, seeking feedback and applying learned insights.
- Ability to interpret basic to complex instructions, plans, and guidelines (e.g., Material Data Sheets, schematics, drawings).
Work Environment:
Working conditions for this position may include:
- Various construction job sites, including unfinished, new, and damaged locations.
- Repetitive hand motions associated with the use of hand and power tools.
- Physical agility, including bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, twisting, pushing, pulling, and reaching.
- The ability to frequently lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs).
- Working in confined spaces and potentially unsanitary conditions.
- Availability for overtime, after-hours responses, and weekend work as needed.
