Lead Technician II

The Lead Technician II plays a crucial role in leading a team of technicians through various phases of mitigation and environmental projects. Reporting directly to the Supervisor, this position requires strong communication and leadership skills to ensure smooth project completion.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain regular communication with key stakeholders, including Branch Manager, Operations Manager, Project Manager, Supervisor, and Project Coordinator, to discuss project schedules, changes in scope, material, and personnel resources.
- Perform and/or direct staff to perform necessary tasks to expedite project completion, including material pickup, order management, moving client contents, and performing repairs at the highest quality while adhering to code regulations and industry standards.
- Lead a group of 3 or more technicians, providing supervision and direction based on defined job parameters.
- Responsible for supervising multiple and different types of jobs in a day, from simple to complex and large loss.
- Ensure the team provides excellent customer service and makes/recommends adjustments based on experience to serve the best interest of the client and company.
- Maintain company-assigned vehicle and restock supplies as necessary.
- Complete and turn in crew sheets and job notes at the end of each day.
- Serve as a role model in following and enforcing company policy and safety procedures while performing services.
- Assist in the development of technicians through mentoring, coaching, equipping, and encouraging skill development through feedback.
- Assist in jobsite safety briefings and provide training within the scope of knowledge.
- May act as the company Site Safety Representative, applying knowledge of industry standards, safety training, and company policies to enforce safety guidelines.
- Complete timecards in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring crew members do the same.
- Turn in completed work orders, including measurements, moisture readings, and necessary detailed paperwork for the Project Manager to complete billing.
- Maintain trade skills through regular training, as provided by the company.
- Continue building knowledge of company services, operations, and standard practices to support individual professional growth.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a lead technician role in the construction field, restoration/mitigation field, or equivalent experience gained through successfully meeting job requirements of Lead Tech I.
- Valid Driver's License with a good driving record (Class C).
- Must be insurable.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
- Able to pass a Respirator Physical and obtain a respiratory fit exam.
- Industry certifications preferred, with the ability to pass medical exams if required for certification.
- Ability to communicate and provide excellent customer service.
- Good grasp of the English language (read, write, verbal).
- Comfortable with utilizing software and applications in accessing documents, forms, reports, etc., and submitting them through company-approved methods.
- Ability to effectively teach and actively contribute to the development of technicians (crew) through demonstration, encouraging opportunities for growth.
- Strong understanding of safety guidelines and applies to daily tasks.
- Successfully completed the Site Safety Representative training.
- Possesses thorough knowledge of company SOPs and adheres to guidelines. Shares with crew through application of SOPs in daily activities.
- Expertise in the use of hand tools, power tools, and other miscellaneous equipment to complete the job.
- Focused on continuous growth and development, asking for feedback, and applying what is learned, willing to do the same for others.
- Can interpret basic to complex instructions/plans/guidelines (i.e., Material Data Sheets, schematics, drawings, etc.).
Working conditions for this position include but are not limited to:
- Construction job sites, unfinished, new, and damaged.
- Repetitive L/R hand motion (use of hand and power tools).
- Agility: bend, squat, crawl, climb stairs, ladders, spaces, twist, pushing, pulling, reach down and overhead.
- Requires ability to lift heavy objects frequently (up to 50lbs).
- Can work in confined spaces.
- Can work in unsanitary conditions, regularly.
- Required OT for scheduled work, after-hour response, and weekend options available.
