The Patient Care Services Associate plays a crucial role in managing various specialized tasks related to the interpretation and execution of patient dietary requests within healthcare facilities. This position serves as a vital link between patients, the Food and Nutrition Services Department, and Nursing Services.
Key Responsibilities- Efficiently delivers and retrieves patient meal trays during designated meal times. Ensures timely delivery of snacks and nourishment as prescribed by healthcare professionals. Engages with patients to introduce the Food and Nutrition Services available to them.
- Gathers information regarding patients' food preferences and aversions from them or their family members.
- Effectively communicates all dietary requirements of patients to the relevant sections of the Food and Nutrition Services Department.
- Guarantees that patients receive their nutrition diet care orders by providing suitable menu options.
- Upholds and complies with all sanitation protocols by adhering to established cleaning schedules. Completes additional sanitation tasks as directed by the Supervisor or Relief Supervisor.
- Conducts inventory checks and replenishes supplies in pantries, refrigerators, and freezers within assigned units.
- Maintains accurate temperature logs for unit refrigerators and freezers.
- Demonstrates understanding of therapeutic diets following established guidelines and seeks guidance from Supervisors or Dietitians when discrepancies arise.
- Collaborates with clinical staff to ensure that all patients' fundamental nutritional care needs are adequately addressed.

Qualifications- Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing in English is required. Bilingual skills are preferred but not mandatory.
This position may involve physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and prolonged periods of standing or walking. Additionally, the role may necessitate the use of uniforms and/or Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
