Job Summary

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences is seeking a skilled Patient Care Technician to join our team. As a Patient Care Technician, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting the on-going delivery of care as identified by the multi-disciplinary Patient Management Team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Obtain patient reports and communicate effectively with Registered Nurses regarding patient care and changes in condition.
  • Assist with patient intake and rooming, as well as obtaining insurance prior authorizations and administrative tasks as assigned.
  • Carry out the Plan of Care for the Patient using a Multidisciplinary Approach as Delegated by the Team Leader.
  • Communicate effectively with other team members to facilitate patient care and accept directions from Registered Nurses and team members.
  • Follow through on delegated patient care activities and assist patients and visitors with information and/or solutions to problems.
Requirements
  • High School diploma/GED
  • Successful completion of a patient care technician course within 3 months of hire
  • Current BLS certification or must successfully obtain certification within the first 30 days of employment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous Patient Care experience
  • Orthopedic Experience
