Job Description

Rivers Safety is seeking a skilled Traffic Control Specialist to work in the Martinsville, VA area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the construction team to establish safe traffic flow around the site, adhering to safety regulations.
  • Direct traffic using Department of Transportation guidelines.
  • Flag motorists to warn them of obstacles or repair work ahead.
  • Set up, maintain, and remove temporary work zones, including warning signs, traffic cones, and other devices.
  • Work safely around hazardous equipment and moving vehicular traffic.
  • Operate company vehicles to and from job sites in a safe manner.
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations, wearing proper safety equipment.
  • Ensure daily testing and inspection of assigned tools and equipment.
  • Complete all paperwork accurately and on time.
  • Adhere to Company Policies and Procedures.

Requirements:

  • Ability to work in various temperatures and weather conditions.
  • Capacity to remain standing for extended periods.
  • Physical ability to lift, move, and maneuver up to 55 pounds occasionally and up to 10 pounds continuously.
  • Must be physically capable of performing all flagging duties.
  • Sufficient eyesight to judge distances and coordination to use equipment and tools effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Willingness to work long hours and overtime during holidays, emergencies, weekends, etc., as needed.
  • Reliable transportation to and from the work site.
  • Valid Driver's License.
