Job Title: Staff Accountant

Freire Schools is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our central network office. As a key member of our accounting team, you will play a critical role in supporting the financial operations of our organization.

Responsibilities:
  • Process accounts payable, bank and credit card reconciliations, revenue recognition, grant reporting, fixed asset maintenance, and monthly general ledger reconciliations for one or more of our four schools and central office.
  • Timely and accurately fulfill all purchase requests for the network.
  • Follow up with vendors on lost or incorrect purchases.
  • Attend daily/weekly team meetings on Zoom and in-person.
  • Assist the Accounting Manager with bank deposit, processing credit card transactions, and monthly bank reconciliations.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in accounting or business.
  • Ability to travel locally to all Philadelphia campuses.
  • Attention to detail with accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills.
