Job Title: Medical Staff Specialist

VNS Health is seeking a highly skilled Medical Staff Specialist to join our team. As a Medical Staff Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.

Job Summary:

The Medical Staff Specialist will be responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating population/disease management programs and related protocols/policies. This individual will collaborate with staff to improve clinical outcomes, provide expert consultations, and develop staff development plans and continuous quality improvement strategies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement formalized disease and symptom management education programs for clinical staff based on evidence-based guidelines and reimbursement regulations.
  • Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
  • Collaborate with program leadership to identify, develop, implement, and evaluate practice improvement plans.
  • Evaluate staff practice patterns on an individual and team level to identify gaps and improve communication skills and clinical practice.
  • Provide clinical care in accordance with VNS Health policies, practices, procedures, and Standards of Professional Practice.
Requirements:
  • License and current registration to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in the State of New York within 6 months of hire required.
  • Valid driver's license or NYS Non-Driver photo ID card, may be required as determined by operational needs.
  • Clinical certification in a specific specialty, such as diabetes, oncology, wound/ostomy/continence, etc. preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in Nursing preferred.
  • Minimum of five years clinical experience required.
  • Experience developing and delivering disease-specific educational programs preferred.
