Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant

Ochsner Health is seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant to join our team in a collaborative care model. As a key member of our medical team, you will work closely with residents, fellows, attendings, and staff to provide high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities- Provide primary and urgent medical management, emergency stabilization of critically ill patients, and teaching of residents and medical students.
- Assume responsibility for the planning, implementation, and evaluation of medical and nursing care.
- Collaborate with PCCs, staff nurses, and discharge coordinators to ensure seamless patient care.
- Develop and implement education programs for patients, staff, and other healthcare professionals.
- Stay up-to-date with current federal, state, and local laws, accreditation standards, and regulatory agency requirements.
- Master's degree in nursing or Physician Assistant medicine or Health Sciences.
- Current License as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant in the state of practice.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) / Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification from the American Heart Association.
- Eligible for Prescriptive Authority in the state of practice as outlined by the State Board of Medical Examiners or State Board of Nursing.
- 3 years of related working experience.
- Family Nurse Practitioner or Adult/Geriatric Nurse Practitioner ANCC or AANPCP Certified.
This role requires the ability to stand for prolonged periods, stoop, bend, reach, and grab with arms and hands. Duties performed routinely require exposure to blood, body fluid, and tissue.
