We are seeking a highly skilled Neonatal Nurse Practitioner/Neonatal Physician Assistant to join our team at Ochsner Health System. This individual will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to critically ill neonates and infants in our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide primary medical management and emergency stabilization of critically ill neonates and infants.
  • Collaborate with the Medical Director and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Participate in daily rounds and contribute to the development of outcome measures.
  • Assume responsibility for 24/7 in-house coverage for all NICUs and high-risk deliveries.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in nursing or Physician Assistant degree.
  • Current Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) License or Physician Assistant certification.
  • Neonatal Nurse Practitioner certification through the National Certification Corporation.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a NICU setting.
  • Knowledge of APRN procedures specific to the role.
  • Computer skills and dexterity for data entry and retrieval of patient information.

Physical and Environmental Demands:

  • Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time.
  • Must be able to travel throughout and between facilities.
