Job Summary

RiverTech is seeking a highly skilled Field Service Technician to join our team in Bangor, Maine. As a Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing telecommunications equipment on towers and structures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform testing and maintenance of sites using test equipment.
  • Install antennas, microwave dishes, mounts, cable ladders, cable, and other supporting devices.
  • Install equipment, fiber, coax, Ethernet, and supporting devices on towers and shelters according to industry standards.
  • Analyze tower sites and identify deficiencies/areas that require correction/repair.
  • Perform routine and special circumstance tower maintenance as instructed by the local CBP Supervisor.
  • Assist in new tower construction, tower decommissioning, and tower modification.
  • Operate articulating man lifts and heights up to 200 feet.
  • Work with Field Support tower technicians to complete installations in a safe and effective manner.
  • Ensure that Job Hazard Assessment (JHA) requirements and pre-climb checklists are identified, documented, and followed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience working as a field service specialist with tower climber/tower worker experience.
  • Experience working as a tower climber/tower worker with at least 5 climbs of towers greater than 200 ft. in height.
  • Experience in working as a tower climber/tower worker on energized towers.
  • Certified in accordance with OSHA Regulations and ANSI/TIA Standards.
  • Holds a Comtrain Competent Climber/Rescuer certification.
  • Ability to climb ladders and steep staircases.
  • Ability to work in remote and challenging locations.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
  • Must be able to pass a DHS Customs and Border Protections Background Investigation.
  • Valid Driver's License.

Desired Qualifications

  • Active Security Clearance.
  • Experience with at least 5 climbs on energized towers.
  • Current DHS Customs and Border Protections Background Investigation.
  • Experience working for DHS Customs and Border Protections as a tower climber or technician.
  • Experience repairing and maintaining P25 infrastructure equipment.
  • Experience in microwave backhaul, analyzing tower sites, and identifying deficiencies/areas that require correction/repair.
