Sports Officials are responsible for ensuring a fun and safe environment for individuals of all ages participating in youth sports events. As a Sports Official, you will be responsible for refereeing events for all levels of competition, maintaining a positive attitude, and providing a friendly environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Referee events for all levels of competition
  • Maintain a positive attitude and provide a friendly environment
  • Ensure a fun and safe environment for participants of all ages
  • Handle participants, team managers, and/or coaches under difficult game situations
  • Make proper calls on command and accept criticism
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees, community organizations, and the public
Requirements:
  • Must be at least sixteen (16) years of age
  • One (1) year of previous referee/umpiring, playing, or coaching experience is preferred
  • Understand how the game is played, including principles, practice, and techniques used in recreational sporting events
  • Ability to handle difficult game situations and make proper calls on command
  • Capable of establishing and maintaining effective working relationships
