Financial Analyst and Budget Manager

Overview:
The Budget Analyst and Management Accountant is a key role in the Finance department at The Lawrenceville School. This position supports the CFAO, Director of Finance, and budget managers in preparing, monitoring, and managing the school's operating and capital budgets. The successful candidate will also be responsible for monitoring and reconciling various general ledger accounts, evaluating and improving work processes, and contributing to ongoing initiatives to strengthen financial analysis and reporting.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development of the school's operating and capital budgets;
- Collaborate with budget managers to review and project spending against budget;
- Conduct financial analysis and reporting;
- Maintain a multi-year forecasting model;
- Make recommendations to improve fiscal efficiency based on financial information analysis;
- Review and reconcile various general ledger accounts, including bank and petty cash accounts, and identify opportunities for improvement;
- Administer the Purchase Card Program and implement new technologies and policies to streamline and automate reconciliations;
- Record journal entries for gift transmittals, securities sold, and other financial transactions;
- Upload monthly entries for P Card activity, dining transfers, and miscellaneous adjustments;
- Perform other duties as required by the needs of the CFAO or Finance Department.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited institution;
- Three to five years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities;
- Preferred knowledge of Financial Edge NXT or similar ERP and budget modules;
- Demonstrated experience with Blackbaud NXT, with a strong expectation of proficiency over time;
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite, with advanced Excel skills;
- Ability to work with a high degree of autonomy and cooperatively in a fast-paced team environment;

- Ability to maintain confidentiality and sensitivity to privacy;
- Capable of self-direction, taking initiative, and being proactive, with a focus on the big picture and good judgment;
