Job Summary:

In this role, you will assist in integrating industrial hygiene requirements into project planning, design, construction, and operations and with risk assessment, plan preparation, and Environmental, Safety, and Health (ES&H) program execution. Your work will help evaluate program performance, identify the need for corrective actions to keep employees safe, and confirm compliance with project requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Safety and Health Management Plans, associated Industrial Hygiene plans and procedures, and training programs.
  • Provide input to Engineering, Construction, Procurement, Subcontracts, Commissioning, and other groups to ensure that Industrial Hygiene requirements are integrated within project planning and execution.
  • Interpret Industrial Hygiene requirements and provide guidance on risk assessment and ES&H program execution.
  • Research issues and regulatory requirements and prepare documentation and reports.
  • Support and guide Industrial Hygiene studies, risk assessments, and other safety and health reviews.
  • Participate in emergency response and incident investigation and resolution.
  • Participate in meetings with customers, team members, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Conduct ES&H inspections and Industrial Hygiene monitoring and sampling to identify hazards and risks, evaluate controls and corrective actions, and assess compliance with contract, regulatory, project, and Bechtel requirements.
  • Assist in the development of ES&H communications and training materials using diverse methods and media and provide training.
  • Support the Waste Treatment Plant Nuclear Safety Quality Culture by emphasizing the values of safety and quality in the performance of work to protect self, others, and the environment.
Requirements:
  • Requires a Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) related to industrial hygiene and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in a nuclear, heavy construction, chemical processing or petroleum refining environment.
  • ABIH Certification (CIH) Preferred Industrial Hygienists II are expected to pursue and/or complete a professional certification, such as an ABIH Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH).
