We are seeking a highly skilled Data Privacy Counsel to join our Chicago office.
About the Role:
The successful candidate will provide expert advice and counsel to clients on privacy and cybersecurity matters, including drafting privacy policies, compliance with applicable privacy and security laws, and assisting with internal investigations to assess corporate privacy compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Offer guidance on data protection laws and regulations.
- Assist with the implementation of internal policies and governance.
- Draft and negotiate data privacy aspects of commercial contracts for technology and other fortune 500 companies.
- Provide support on M&A transactions involving data privacy and security issues.
Requirements:
- JD from a top-tier law school.
- Licensed to practice law in Illinois.
- 2+ years of experience in privacy law, ideally gained at a leading law firm or sophisticated in-house department.
- Experience advising clients on data protection laws.
