Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Janitor to join our team in Houston, Texas. As a Janitor, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment for our employees and customers. This is a maintenance position working 4x10's plus occasional OT - No Per Diem.
Responsibilities- Clean and sanitize offices, meeting rooms, bathrooms, kitchen, and dining room, as well as public areas.
- Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming.
- Empty trash and recyclables, and restock supplies as needed.
- Service and clean restrooms, including restocking toilet paper and soap.
- Clean and polish furniture and fixtures.
- Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors.
- Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment.
- Adjust and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilating, plumbing, and electrical systems.
- Mix cleaning solutions and apply them to surfaces as needed.
- Steam-clean or shampoo carpets.
- Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors.
- Clean and restore building interiors damaged by fire, smoke, or water.
- Clean laboratory equipment, including glassware and metal instruments.
- Drive vehicles required to perform or travel to cleaning work.
- Monitor building security and safety.
- Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies.
- Mow and trim lawns and shrubbery.
- Notify managers of the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
- Requisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.
- Valid TWIC Card and Driver's License.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand for long periods and walk on uneven surfaces.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
