Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Janitor to join our team in Houston, Texas. As a Janitor, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment for our employees and customers. This is a maintenance position working 4x10's plus occasional OT - No Per Diem.

Responsibilities
  • Clean and sanitize offices, meeting rooms, bathrooms, kitchen, and dining room, as well as public areas.
  • Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming.
  • Empty trash and recyclables, and restock supplies as needed.
  • Service and clean restrooms, including restocking toilet paper and soap.
  • Clean and polish furniture and fixtures.
  • Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors.
  • Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment.
  • Adjust and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilating, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Mix cleaning solutions and apply them to surfaces as needed.
  • Steam-clean or shampoo carpets.
  • Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors.
  • Clean and restore building interiors damaged by fire, smoke, or water.
  • Clean laboratory equipment, including glassware and metal instruments.
  • Drive vehicles required to perform or travel to cleaning work.
  • Monitor building security and safety.
  • Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies.
  • Mow and trim lawns and shrubbery.
  • Notify managers of the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
  • Requisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.
Requirements
  • Valid TWIC Card and Driver's License.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and walk on uneven surfaces.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
