Position Overview:
The Audiologist is responsible for conducting comprehensive diagnostic audiological assessments to identify various hearing impairments. This role involves interpreting test outcomes and collaborating with medical professionals to provide recommendations regarding hearing-related conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Administers thorough evaluations of auditory function, along with prevention, habilitation, and rehabilitation services for individuals experiencing hearing issues.
  • Performs physical examinations of the ear's external structures.
  • Engages in procedures such as ear cleaning, fitting and dispensing hearing aids, assessing cochlear implants, programming, and rehabilitation, as well as conducting electrophysiological evaluations of auditory and vestibular systems.
  • Offers counseling to patients with hearing disorders and their families, providing insights into the nature of the condition and its management strategies.
  • Generates detailed reports and integrates audiological findings with other diagnostic information, including educational, medical, social, and behavioral data.
  • Kaiser Permanente regularly reviews compensation for positions, retaining the right to modify job descriptions and adjust roles from salaried to hourly status as necessary, with prior notification to affected employees.
Qualifications:
  • Experience: Minimum of one (1) year in diagnostic audiology and related services.
  • Education: A Master's degree or Clinical Doctorate in Audiology (AuD) is required prior to starting the position.
  • Licensure and Certification: A valid Audiologist License (California) is mandatory upon hire, or a Temporary Audiologist License may be accepted. A National Provider Identifier is also required at the time of hire, along with Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.
Additional Requirements:
  • Ability to work effectively within a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
  • If involved in dispensing hearing aids, a Dispensing Audiologist license is necessary.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least one (1) year of post-licensure experience in audiology is preferred.
