Director of Cardiology

The Manager of Cardiology Service Line will play a key role in merging clinical excellence with operational efficiency to drive volume growth.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical nursing leadership, ensuring adherence to the highest standards of patient care within the cardiology service line.
  • Collaborate with marketing leadership, hospital operational leaders, medical group operational and clinical leaders, and community partners to design, lead, and implement cardiovascular service line strategy for the market.
  • Conduct thorough business and financial analyses on service line products and services, new projects, financial forecasts, volume projections, and proposed capital investments.
  • Collaborate with operational leaders across the continuum of care to execute cardiovascular service line strategies to improve access to safe and high-quality patient care.
  • Ensure a physician alignment strategy for cardiovascular service lines.
  • Identify the needs of physician leaders and referring physicians in the cardiovascular service line and create plans for innovation and satisfaction.
  • Partner with the director service lines and executive leaders to ensure physician succession planning and geographic access planning are implemented.
  • Suggest and support clinical quality benchmark initiatives.
  • Manage results of a balanced scorecard incorporating operational, clinical, market share, and financial metrics to measure cardiovascular service line business plan success and monitor performance.
  • Lead efforts to achieve cardiovascular-specific accreditations and center-of-excellence designations.
  • Research and advance innovation of products and procedures to support growth and continuity of care.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Department to implement local and market strategies for marketing, digital, and consumer experience strategies regarding service line priorities and business plans.
  • Evaluate resources across the market and develop action plans with the Director to maximize cost-effectiveness and utilization while supporting a culture that fosters trust, high reliability, safety, and quality.
  • Recommend and implement plans that uphold and improve the experience of patients, families, customers, associates, and providers.
  • Ensure service line programs and processes follow all regulatory agencies governing health care delivery.
  • Develop the organization's talent in direct reporting relationships and cross-market teams; effectively attracts, mentors, and develops future leaders of Nashville General Hospital.

Education: Requires a bachelor's degree. Master's degree preferred.

Certification & Licensures: Registered Nurse (RN), CPR is required through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, and ACLS is required within 90 days of hire.

Experience: The Cardiology Manager requires five years of experience in Cardiology or other related area as an individual contributor and 1 to 3 years of leadership and healthcare operations experience required with extensive knowledge of the cardiology service line.

Proven track record of driving volume growth in healthcare settings. Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills. Knowledge of healthcare regulations, nursing standards, and operational best practices.
