The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is seeking a highly skilled Pharmacist I to join our team. As a Pharmacist I, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and effective dispensing of medications to our patients.
Responsibilities- Reviews and interprets prescriber's orders and detects appropriateness of therapy
- Prepares and dispenses medications
- Prepares sterile admixtures using proper aseptic technique
- Answers client questions regarding prescription renewal, dosage, and side effects
- Serves as a primary or co-preceptor for College of Pharmacy rotational students
- Provides formal, in-depth training of students and new staff
- Assists with development of educational materials and in-services for staff development
- Directs, advises, and instructs staff in assigned area in all activities pertaining to job duties and functions
- Assists leadership in all aspects of pharmacy operations in area of assigned responsibility
- Serves as a liaison between the pharmacy service line and the assigned practice area
- Ensures equipment and facilities are used, calibrated, and maintained properly
- Promotes a safe working environment by adhering to UAMS patient safety plan
- Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy plus 1 year of experience working as a pharmacist (or pharmacy intern) in a retail or hospital setting PLUS Certification as a licensed Registered Pharmacist by the State of Arkansas or eligible for licensure by the State of Arkansas
- Graduate of an ACPE accredited School of Pharmacy with a Pharm.D.
- 2 years of applicable pharmacy experience
