Job Summary: The Department of Radiology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Medicine & Public Health is seeking a highly skilled individual to serve as the Director of the Center for High Value Imaging (CHVI). This dynamic leader will be responsible for designing, building, and directing the CHVI, a major operations and translational nexus within the Department. The successful applicant will have a strong background in clinical operations, informatics, and the use of artificial intelligence/machine learning in clinical practice. The Director will work closely with departmental leadership to transform and redefine the way modern Radiology is practiced, including improvements in workflow, efficiency, and translation of advanced technologies into clinical practice. This position will also involve research and 30-50% clinical duties in Radiology. The Director will mentor and supervise a team of data scientists, programmers, human factors engineers, students, and other center members, as well as interface with other areas of the department. The ideal candidate will have excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

Responsibilities: The Director of the Center for High Value Imaging will be responsible for:

  • Designing and implementing strategies to improve clinical operations and informatics within the Department of Radiology
  • Leading the development and implementation of artificial intelligence and machine learning solutions in clinical practice
  • Mentoring and supervising a team of data scientists, programmers, human factors engineers, students, and other center members
  • Collaborating with departmental leadership to transform and redefine the way modern Radiology is practiced
  • Performing research and contributing to the development of new technologies and innovations in Radiology

Requirements: The successful applicant will have a strong background in clinical operations, informatics, and the use of artificial intelligence/machine learning in clinical practice. The ideal candidate will have excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a dynamic and collaborative environment. A Ph.D. or M.D. degree is required, with a strong track record of research and publication in the field of Radiology.
