Job Summary

Catholic Health Service is seeking a skilled Cat Scan Technologist to join our team. As a Cat Scan Technologist, you will operate computerized tomography (CT) scanners to obtain images for use by physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of pathologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Obtain patient history, including clinical documentation, prior to performing procedure.
  • Document all relevant information on patient record and department files.
  • Explain procedure to patient and assist patient throughout procedure.
  • Prepare contrast media for administration.
  • Practice sterile techniques as required and observe infection control procedures.
  • Responsible for the correct identification of patients.
  • Assist physicians in performance of examinations.
  • Demonstrate competence in operating ionizing radiation producing CT equipment minimizing radiation to patient, staff, self, while maximizing image quality.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be a graduate of an accredited two-year program in radiologic technology.
  • Maintains the recommended CME by the ARRT.
  • ARRT registration and NYS DOH Radiology license required; Advanced CT certification preferred.
  • Certified to inject and start IV for contrast injections required.
  • Knowledge and working experience in Computerized Axid Tomography preferred.
  • BLS required.
