Role Overview

This position entails overseeing and executing a comprehensive multi-modal supply chain for bulk materials.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with various supply chain teams to ensure the tactical implementation of the strategic vision for product shipping, transloading, and related supply chain functions.
  • Engage in daily interactions with different teams within ExxonMobil, including both employees and contractors.
  • Conduct regular performance assessments for transportation and terminal operators.
  • Plan and prepare for service exceptions during holidays and other periods affecting the supply chain.
  • Provide critical insights for the management of transportation vendors responsible for bulk material movement.
  • Work with relevant teams to analyze and assess the requirements for supply chain assets such as railcars, trucks, vessels, and third-party terminal capacities.

Rail Operations:

  • Ensure rail scheduling and billing align with the strategic plan.
  • Manage railcar inventory to maintain optimal levels at origin, in transit, and at destination terminals.
  • Track shipment data to identify and mitigate issues with routes or interchange locations.
  • Lead the re-routing of railcars in response to unplanned service disruptions.

Trucking Operations:

  • Ensure the trucking team’s plans align with overall supply chain objectives.
  • Collaborate closely with the Completions Engineering team to ensure efficient product delivery while optimizing costs.

Marine Operations:

  • Coordinate with the Global marine team regarding vessel requirements.
  • Monitor marine shipments and ensure the supply chain plan is continuously updated.
  • Provide indirect oversight of transloading activities between marine and rail.

Third-Party Terminal Management:

  • Act as the primary supply chain liaison to third-party terminals handling bulk materials.
  • Manage tactical issues with third-party terminals and make first-line decisions for mitigation.
  • Conduct periodic onsite evaluations of third-party terminals.
Candidate Profile

Qualifications and Skills

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience, with a Bachelor's Degree preferred in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or equivalent experience of 15 years.
  • Knowledge of the North American Rail Network, with preferred experience in class-I rail operations or complex logistics involving rail transportation.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders, analytical capabilities, and a competitive spirit.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in demand planning, leadership, and working in a dynamic 24/7 supply chain environment.
  • Familiarity with SAP, transloading terminals, railroad blocking strategies, trucking logistics, and marine interfaces.
