Position Overview:
This role acts as the initial point of contact for patients entering the healthcare facility. It is specifically designed for individuals employed within an outpatient setting. Responsibilities include welcoming and checking in patients, confirming their information, scheduling appointments, and updating the Electronic Health Record (EHR). The position also involves facilitating intake processes, such as completing healthcare and insurance documentation and collecting payments for services rendered. Building trust and rapport with patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals is essential through proficient job execution and effective communication. Compliance with all organizational, local, state, and federal regulations, as well as codes, policies, and procedures, is crucial to ensure privacy and safety while delivering optimal patient care. Additional responsibilities may include performing specific tasks and orienting new staff within the department.
*Travel may be required between locations as necessary.
Job Description:
EDUCATION:
- Equivalent experience will be considered in lieu of the required degree or diploma.
- High School Diploma or equivalent education/experience.
- 1 year of recent relevant experience.
- Fundamental understanding of insurance policies and procedures, along with patient billing.
- Ability to interpret various forms of data and instructions, whether written, oral, diagrammatic, or scheduled.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with team members, supervisors, patients, and other healthcare personnel.
- Well-developed time management and organizational abilities, including the capacity to prioritize tasks and operate within standardized policies and procedures to meet objectives and deadlines.
- General proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team, managing multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
- Capability to identify, assess, and resolve standard issues by selecting appropriate solutions from established options.
- Commitment to ensuring the privacy of each patient's Protected Health Information (PHI).
- Ability to foster collaborative relationships with peers and other staff members to achieve departmental and organizational goals.

The salary range for this role may vary based on location and is determined by several factors including experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs.
