About the Job

We are seeking a seasoned Interior Design Project Lead to oversee all design phases for interior projects, establish the vision on every project, and interact extensively with various stakeholders. This is an excellent opportunity to showcase your expertise in leading teams and delivering exceptional results.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Schedule and lead planning and coordination meetings with other Facilities staff to ensure seamless execution of projects.
  • Translate, plan, and execute the instructional vision of stakeholders by analyzing their needs and developing effective solutions.
  • Develop, maintain, and analyze project databases, space, and end-user requirements to determine the most efficient use of space according to design principles.
  • Manage the work of interior designers by reviewing design and technical drawings to ensure compliance with design solutions as well as schedule and budget qualifications.
  • Review and finalize space plans for projects with interior designers and lower-level staff, providing feedback on the work product to drive continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate work schedules and project assignments for multiple sites of interior designers and other staff to optimize team performance.
  • Recommend policy, procedure, guidelines, and product standards to ensure consistency and excellence in design.
  • Conduct manufacturer, vendor, and product reviews to establish criteria for participation in the F&E program.
  • Provide expert advice on the selection and design of essential fixtures and finishes to use for projects, ensuring maximum durability for longevity, instructional support, aesthetic value, life expectancy, functional space arrangements, and flow plan.
  • Present briefings and issues updates regarding interior projects to Executive Facilities staff as required.
  • Prepare detailed reports on planning, procurement, and logistics for Furniture and Equipment project planning.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 12 years of full-time paid professional experience in interior design and completion of interior projects.
  • At least 5 years supervisory experience in leading a team involved in design development; planning, procurement, and logistics for furniture/equipment projects.
  • Space planning experience and ability to execute a project from concept design through execution documentation.
  • Extensive knowledge of design principles and aesthetics.
  • Extensive knowledge of space planning and methodology.
  • Extensive knowledge of building systems, codes, and ADA requirements as they relate to interior design.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage deliverables, schedules, logistics.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; extensive presentation and graphic communication.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and lead staff through direct authority and subject matter expertise.
  • Working knowledge of budget preparation and proven ability to manage projects within budgetary constraints.
Estimated Salary:

$125,000 - $140,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
