Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Architect and/or Project Manager to join our team at the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD). As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for leading the design and project management activities for various projects, including the School Upgrade Program and critical repair projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct the design and project management activities for multiple projects, ensuring they meet functional program, budgetary, environmental, and legal requirements.
  • Develop and coordinate the District's design process to ensure plans align with LAUSD's standards and guidelines.
  • Coordinate project activities with other District organizational branches and departments.
  • Manage relationships with Architects, consultants, and District personnel throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure effective communication and collaboration among stakeholders to achieve project goals.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance project outcomes and mitigate risks.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10 years of full-time paid professional experience managing facilities design or coordinating capital projects.
  • At least 5 years of this experience must be with the design, planning, and construction of educational facilities or similar public agencies.

Preferred License:

  • A valid Certificate of Registration as an Architect by the California State Architectural Board or Professional Engineer by the State Board for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors.

Estimated Salary Range: $120,000 - $180,000 per year, based on industry standards and location.
