Key Responsibilities
As a Customer Service Specialist, your primary duties will involve handling incoming and outgoing calls related to member accounts. You thrive in a dynamic environment and ensure that your friendly demeanor and helpful attitude shine through in every interaction.
You will assist members with essential banking functions such as retrieving account information, processing transfers, initiating stop payments, managing card requests, handling check copy requests, and facilitating wire transfers. You will also educate members about our diverse range of products and services, including banking options, IRAs, and loans. Utilizing your knowledge, you will adopt a consultative approach to identify needs and promote financial products.
While you will be equipped to resolve many inquiries independently, some calls may need to be escalated to supervisors or other departments.
Qualifications for a Customer Service Specialist
- Experience in an inbound customer service environment
- Proficiency with technology, including computers and office equipment
- Ability to pass a credit and criminal background check
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Prior experience in a credit union or banking setting is preferred
- Sales experience is a plus
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is required
- Please note that background checks and a pre-employment drug test will be conducted.
This position typically operates Monday through Friday, with two Saturday shifts each month. Hours may vary, including at least two evening shifts weekly. Typical shifts include 7:45 am - 4:45 pm, 9:00 am - 6:00 pm, and 10:00 am - 7:00 pm on weekdays and 7:45 am - 1:00 pm on Saturdays.
