Veterinary Emergency Care Assistant

With multiple hospital locations, we are dedicated to delivering exceptional emergency and specialty veterinary medical services to our patients, clients, and referring veterinarians. Our facilities foster a welcoming environment where our primary objective is to provide compassionate care to our patients and clients while ensuring outstanding customer service.
Position Overview:
The Veterinary Technician Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the veterinary and technician teams. Candidates must exhibit a friendly, professional demeanor and possess the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously amidst frequent interruptions. Adherence to training standards and the ability to take direction from various staff members is essential.
Work Schedule and Compensation:
- This role is designated for second shift
- Involves four 9-10 hour shifts weekly, including every other weekend
- Participation in 4 holidays annually
- Starting pay is $15 per hour, with potential for higher compensation based on experience
Key Responsibilities:
Attention to detail and multi-tasking abilities are critical. Candidates should be prepared to stand for extended periods and possess the stamina to work beyond scheduled shifts when necessary.
Primary duties include, but are not limited to:
- Patient restraint
- Sanitation of kennels and floors
- Stocking treatment areas
- Laundry duties
- Escorting patients outdoors
- Feeding patients
Candidate Profile:
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative environment and a commitment to fostering long-term relationships with colleagues, clients, and the community
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- A positive attitude, a passion for delivering high-quality patient care, and the ability to provide exceptional client service.
Qualifications:
- Experience working or volunteering with dogs and cats in a veterinary clinic, humane society, kennel, or similar setting is required
