Job Description

**Job Summary:**

Zachry Group is seeking a highly skilled Rigger Specialist to join our team. As a Rigger Specialist, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient lifting and movement of heavy equipment and materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and Plan Lifts: Conduct thorough inspections of rigging equipment and plan lifts to ensure safe and efficient movement of heavy equipment and materials.
  • Attach and Detach Loads: Attach loads to rigging equipment using slings, chains, shackles, hooks, and cables, and detach loads and remove rigging equipment after lifts.
  • Signal Equipment Operators: Signal equipment operators during lifts to provide directional or placement instructions.
  • Guide Loads: Guide loads during lifts and positioning to ensure safe and efficient movement.
  • Climb Structures: Climb structures to guide and position loads, and assist in connecting or stabilizing loads prior to detaching them from equipment.
  • Remove Outrigger Pads: Remove outrigger pads from cranes and other heavy equipment after lifts.

Requirements:

  • Experience: 4+ years of experience as a Journeyman Rigger.
  • Certifications: NCCER or NCCCO certification for Rigging, or previous Zachry ETS Signal Person Training.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of rigging equipment and their capacities, knowledge of required tools and their proper use, and effective communication skills.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and work in all weather conditions while wearing personal protective equipment (PPE).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current Zachry or Zachry ROF'ed Employee: Current employees of Zachry or Zachry ROF'ed employees are preferred.
  • Former Experience with Zachry Industrial, Inc.: Former experience working with Zachry Industrial, Inc. is preferred.
  • Industrial Ironworker Experience: Experience working as an Industrial Ironworker is preferred.
