Firefighter-Paramedic Recruit

The City of Ventura is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Firefighter-Paramedic Recruit to join our team. As a Firefighter-Paramedic Recruit, you will be responsible for providing emergency medical services and firefighting services to the community. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a strong commitment to public safety and customer service.

• Provide emergency medical services, including patient assessment, treatment, and transportation
• Operate firefighting equipment, including engines, trucks, and rescue vehicles
• Participate in fire prevention and education programs
• Collaborate with other emergency responders, including police and ambulance services
• Perform routine maintenance and inspections of equipment and facilities

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Current California Paramedic License (EMT-P) or National Registry Paramedic License
• Current Healthcare Provider CPR certification
• Valid California Class C driver license
• Ability to pass a Candidate Physical Abilities Test (CPAT)
• Ability to pass a written examination administered by the Firefighter Candidate Testing Center (FCTC)
