The Firefighter-Paramedic Recruit is a non-sworn, non-safety position that requires a strong foundation in emergency medical services and firefighting techniques. As a Firefighter-Paramedic Recruit, you will be responsible for responding to emergency calls, providing medical care, and participating in fire suppression and rescue operations.

• Respond to emergency calls and provide medical care to patients
• Participate in fire suppression and rescue operations
• Undergo comprehensive training and development to become a skilled and confident firefighter-paramedic
• Work collaboratively with other emergency responders to provide effective and efficient emergency services

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Current California Paramedic License (EMT-P) or National Registry Paramedic License
• Current Healthcare Provider CPR certification
• Valid California Class C driver license
• Pass the Cal-JAC Candidate Physical Agility Test (CPAT) and possess a valid CPAT certificate dated between 09/25/23 and 09/26/24
• Register for and successfully pass the Firefighter Candidate Testing Center (FCTC) written examination between 09/25/23 and 09/26/24
• Be active on the Firefighter Candidate Testing Center (FCTC) Statewide Eligibility list on September 26, 2024
