Quality Assurance Inspector Position Summary


The Quality Assurance Inspector I will be tasked with conducting fundamental dimensional and visual inspections across various manufacturing processes utilizing diverse methods and equipment.

This role will also involve completing necessary quality documentation in accordance with company and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) standards, policies, and procedures.

Shifts Available:

2nd shift: 2:30pm-11pm Mon-Fri

Responsibilities:
Quality Assurance Inspector Duties and Responsibilities

1. Inspect incoming materials, components, and assemblies for quality, appearance, and performance.

2. Accurately interpret and document the outcomes of inspections and testing.

3. Identify and report non-conforming products.

4. Utilize a variety of inspection measurement tools and gauges (Micrometer, Caliper, Gage Pins, Indicators, Thread Gauges, Profilometer, Optical Comparator, Microscopes).

5. Operate various precision testing equipment, including but not limited to Tool Scope, CMM, and Vision systems.

6. Support and adhere to the company Quality System, ISO, and medical device requirements.

7. Read, comprehend, and follow work instructions and standard operating procedures.

Collaboration with Other Business Segments:
1. Engage with sales/marketing, customer service, engineering, quality, and finance teams.

2. Understand customer requirements and the core business markets served.

3. Ensure business systems are effectively implemented, maintained, and operational.

4. Participate in mandatory company meetings.

5. Maintain an organized workspace (5S).

6. Contribute to the Operational Excellence Program.

7. Complete additional tasks as assigned.

8. Ability to work in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications:
Quality Assurance Inspector Requirements

1. Basic understanding of inspection equipment usage and maintenance.

2. Capability to work from customer-provided drawings and specifications.

3. Ability to communicate inspection results effectively with team members.

4. Flexibility to quickly adapt priorities in support of production inspection needs.

5. Manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

6. Mechanical aptitude.

7. Dexterity and hand-eye coordination.

8. Proficiency in using a microscope and hand tools.

9. Willingness to cross-train in other production areas as needed.

10. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher).

11. Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills.

12. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

13. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced team environment.

14. Capacity to prioritize and multitask.

Quality Assurance Inspector Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

1. One year of experience in a manufacturing setting.

2. Familiarity with measuring instruments, methods, and practices, including hand tools and machine devices such as CMM and Vision Systems.

3. Knowledge of ISO 9001/13485 standards.

4. Quality training and certifications.
