Job Overview

The Quality Control Material Handler plays a crucial role in evaluating, physically processing, and monitoring all incoming damaged finished products at the designated Distribution Center.

This position also provides support to the QC Inspector as needed.

The QC Material Handler is frequently involved in making decisions regarding product quality and utilizes various software tools for data entry, research, and communication.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage product holds in the Catalyst system and execute releases when necessary.
  • Tag and remove quarantine labels for products being held or released.
  • Evaluate incoming damaged finished goods for potential re-boxing and restocking; physically re-box and salvage items when feasible, while maintaining accurate records using Catalyst, SAP, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Collaborate with divisional partners to determine the next steps for stock on hold and investigate damaged goods with the transportation problem ticket team as needed.
  • Assist the QC Inspector with stock audits, recall checks, deviations, relabeling, product rework, pedigree verification, and other assigned projects.
  • Maintain effective communication and working relationships with branch personnel and divisional partners.
  • Operate powered material handling equipment to retrieve materials from storage and place them as required, including reach trucks and order pickers.
  • Support item adjustments in the Catalyst system and other inventory-related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience: Previous experience with powered warehouse equipment is preferred.

Skills and Abilities: To effectively perform the core functions of this role, candidates must possess basic math skills (addition and subtraction) and entry-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel, along with intermediate skills in Microsoft Word.

The position requires:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting, walking, or standing, with frequent bending and kneeling.
  • Close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Working in varying temperature environments (32F - 95F) and at heights.
  • The capability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequent bending and kneeling.
  • Potential travel for training or customer visits.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Understanding of FDA/QSR/ISO14551 guidelines.
  • Knowledge of ANSI/ASQCZ1.4-current revision.
  • Prior experience in a warehouse setting.
  • Previous quality control experience in a regulated industry.
