Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Professor of Psychology to join our team at the University of the District of Columbia. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate courses in Psychology, including Introduction to Psychology, Research Methods, and Experimental Psychology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach undergraduate courses in Psychology, utilizing a student-centered approach and incorporating current research and methodologies.
  • Develop and implement curriculum that aligns with the University's academic standards and goals.
  • Assess student learning and provide feedback to students, using rubrics and other assessment tools.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and other relevant data.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of departmental policies and procedures.
  • Stay current with developments in the field of Psychology, attending conferences and workshops as needed.
Requirements
  • A Ph.D. in Psychology from an APA-accredited program.
  • A minimum of two years of teaching experience at the college/university level.
  • Demonstrated evidence of scholarly publications in peer-reviewed journals and presentations at discipline-related conferences.
  • Evidence of working with underserved populations in the classroom and community.
  • Demonstrated record of collaborating with faculty colleagues through participation in program, college, and university activities.
Working Conditions

This is a temporary, part-time position. The successful candidate will be required to work on a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as needed.
