Job Summary

As a Structural Engineer at Sempra, you will play a key role in designing and developing innovative solutions for our electric transmission and distribution system. You will work closely with our team to prepare engineering designs, specifications, and cost estimates for new facilities and repairs/modifications to existing facilities. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring that our projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and coordinate engineering and economic feasibility studies and cost analyses related to the design, construction, and permitting of electric facilities.
  • Provide technical expertise to project teams for the evaluation of and resolution to engineering problems and designs involving various engineering disciplines.
  • Manage specific capital projects to ensure they are built to standards, built on time, and within budget.
  • Develop Company standards, specifications, and procedures governing selection, design, application, and operation of materials, components, and systems.
  • Interpret state and federal codes, industry standards, and Company specifications for clients.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET accredited program, or an Advanced degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET accredited program, or California Professional Engineer (PE) license in Civil Engineering.
  • 3.5 years of relevant and increasingly challenging engineering experience in Structural Engineering.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Engineer-In-Training (EIT) Certification.
