Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and caring Special Education Teacher to join our team at Soliant. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in special education and be able to develop and implement individualized education plans for students with special needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement IEPs: Create and implement individualized education plans that address the unique learning goals and objectives of students with special needs.
  • Teaching Strategies: Utilize various teaching strategies and techniques to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement effective instructional strategies and support services.
  • Direct Instruction: Provide direct instruction to students, delivering engaging and differentiated lessons that promote academic, social, and emotional growth.
  • Progress Monitoring: Assess student progress regularly and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
  • Classroom Environment: Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters a sense of belonging and supports the social and emotional well-being of students.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed records of student progress, behavior, and IEP compliance.
  • Professional Development: Attend and actively participate in meetings, workshops, and professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Certification: Valid state teaching certification in Special Education.
  • Experience: Prior experience working with students with special needs is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with students, parents, colleagues, and other professionals.
  • Personal Qualities: Patience, empathy, and the ability to create a supportive and nurturing learning environment.
  • Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
