About the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled Staff Accountant to join our finance team. As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for maintaining financial records, developing and implementing financial functions, and collaborating with other departments to resolve accounting issues.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including general ledger accounts and cash and cash equivalent accounts
- Develop and implement financial functions, including budgeting and forecasting
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve accounting issues and concerns
- Provide external auditors with assistance and gather necessary fiscal information
- Develop policies and procedures to improve operational efficiencies
- High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred
- Proven experience with financial software, payroll, general ledger maintenance, accounts receivable, and accounts payable
- 1-3 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a non-profit environment
- Proficient knowledge of General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, accounting software, and payroll software
The Staff Accountant will work in a fast-paced office environment, occasionally moving about to access file cabinets and office machinery. The ability to observe details at a close range and communicate effectively with team members is essential.
