The Portfolio Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing and managing our commercial loan portfolio. This position collaborates closely with the Team Manager or Relationship Manager responsible for client relationships. The Portfolio Manager is expected to maintain strong communication with clients to identify and develop new business opportunities, enhancing both loan and bank service offerings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Team Manager or Relationship Manager to monitor and manage the credit quality of the assigned loan portfolio.
  • Develop and sustain existing client relationships while promoting additional bank products and services.
  • Responsible for credit origination, portfolio monitoring, renewals, amendments, and conducting annual reviews.
  • Negotiate and structure loan terms with clients, preparing necessary documentation for approval.
  • Work alongside the underwriting team to compile the Credit Commitment Report (CCR).
  • Present the CCR to the appropriate approval authorities, ensuring accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Review loan documentation to guarantee precision and compliance.
  • Oversee the loan closing process, ensuring a seamless client experience.
  • Continuously monitor and assess the credit quality of the loan portfolio.
  • Ensure compliance with all bank and regulatory requirements while delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Mentor and guide junior officers and loan staff.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience: 5-10 years in loan account management or credit underwriting, with a solid understanding of lending regulations.
  • Extensive experience in managing commercial real estate and construction loans.
  • Strong negotiation skills regarding loan terms and conditions.
  • Proficient in credit policy, risk management, and loan servicing.
  • Ability to effectively cross-sell banking products and services.
  • Skills: Proficient in PC applications, excellent communication skills, and detail-oriented. Bilingual abilities in English and Mandarin or Cantonese are advantageous.
