Job Title: Medical Assistant in Training

Capital Area Pediatrics is seeking a Medical Assistant in Training to join our team. As a Medical Assistant in Training, you will provide clinical support while learning and progressing through clinical MA skills training.

Responsibilities:
  • Greet and escort patients to the exam room, gather patient history, measure vitals, and document all information in the patient's medical chart.
  • Process patients during check-in and check-out, collect insurance and registration information, and schedule appointments as needed.
  • Ensure exam rooms are clean and stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintain instruments, and prepare sterilization as required.
  • Maintain patient files, records, and other information in a confidential manner.
  • Communicate effectively and courteously with patients and family members, demonstrating a caring attitude.
  • Support business operations through administrative projects and tasks at the practice business office.
  • Participate in on-the-job training to develop clinical skills, including reviewing patient records, interviewing patients and family members, performing laboratory testing, and administering vaccines and treatments.
Requirements:
  • Active NHA CCMA certification or plans to take the certification exam.
  • Adherence to Capital Area Pediatrics immunization and testing requirements.
  • Clinical experience is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to multi-task and perform well in a fast-paced patient care environment.
